The Cameroon Advocacy Network Communications Intern will be responsible for creating social media content, posting social media content, managing the press list, reporter outreach, sending out press releases, handling storytelling logistics, and serving as a production assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of a cross-cutting, trauma-informed storytelling strategy to significantly expand Cameroon Advocacy Network’s overall presence on media outlets, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, in line with CAN’s brand, tone, and visual identity
- Manage all logistics related to interviews, events, press calls, events and artistic project management
- Support the content of our org including short and long form videos, graphic illustrations, photography, reports, and testimony
- Design flyers, infographics, and regularly update the CAN website
- Draft, edit, and run approvals for press releases
Qualifications / Skills:
- English fluency is required; French or Spanish is a plus.
- At least two years of related work experience in communications, production or digital space
- Familiarity with social media listening tools, MailChimp, WordPress, Canva, and Adobe
- Basic photography, photo editing and graphic design skills
- Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Flexibility and patience as days can be unpredictable
- Commitment to building an anti-racist immigration and asylum system that is based on dignity, community, kindness, empathy and welcoming
- Ability to travel to the borderlands, sometimes with little notice
- Well organized, comfortable handling logistics including attention to detail

Intake and Client Case Management Volunte
The Cameroon Advocacy Network intake and Client Case Management Volunteer Intern will assist with intakes and client case management. This is a unique opportunity to directly support Black migrants and asylum seekers by providing them with the essential resources and guidance they need.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake interviews with new clients to gather critical information about their cases.
- Maintain and update client records, ensuring all information is accurate and confidential.
- Assist in developing and tracking individualized case management plans.
- Support clients in navigating various social services, legal resources, and community support systems.Support clients in navigating various social services, legal resources, and community support systems.
- Coordinate communication between clients and legal representatives, ensuring timely follow-up and case updates.
Responsibilities:
- English fluency is required; French or Spanish is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French or Spanish is highly desirable.
- Experience in case management, social work, or related fields is a plus.
- Commitment to supporting Black migrants and building an anti-racist immigration system.
